Biography:

Dr. Kim Daxon is a native of Fort Pierce, Florida, attended John Carroll High School. She received her B.S. in Chemistry at Stetson University (1989) where she met her husband.  Dr. Daxon graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill (1993). She completed a one-year GPR at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, followed by a two-year Prosthodontic residency at Harvard SDM and the VA.  She specializes in complex occlusal disorders, complete and partial dentures and implant prosthetics.

After finishing her prosthodontic residency, Dr. Daxon joined Dr. Peter Dawson in 1998.   She became a Senior Faculty member at The Dawson Academy in 2014, where she teaches other dentists and their teams, from around the world, the fundamentals of restorative and functional dentistry.  She also created and implemented the Complete Denture course laying the foundation for full arch implant prostheses.  In 2018, she was named The Resident Expert of Removable Prosthodontics of The Dawson Academy.

Dr. Daxon holds awards from the International College of Dentists and the Academy of Oral Medicine. She is a member of the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, the Florida Academy of Dental Practice Administration, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the American College of Prosthodontists, the Florida Prosthodontic Association, the West Coast Dental Association, the Advanced Dental Implant Study Club, and the Pinellas County Dental Association.

Dr. Daxon is married to her husband, Patrick. They have 3 children, Claire, Grace and Lilly.

Course Objectives:

  1. Understand removable prosthodontic principles as they relate to all aspects of restorative dentistry and implant dentistry.
  2. Understand complete denture fabrication process, gaining confidence and predictability at the delivery appointment.
  3. Learn to determine the vertical dimension of occlusion in the edentulous patient.
  4. Learn to problem solve phonetic challenges.
