Prevention & Management of Common Dental Implant Complications
Even in the best of circumstances, complications can occur. With dental implant therapy, there is a heightened emotional response to these circumstances in all three members of the team; surgeon, restorative dentist and patient. This session will discuss the most common complications facing the team. Peri-implant mucositis, peri-implantitis, loose and broken screws, material failure and cement sepsis to name a few. Diagnosis, treatment and prevention strategies will be presented.
- To recognize and understand how and why complications occur.
- To create a strategy to prevent these complications from happening.
- To understand how to correct the complications and revise or restore a case if necessary
