SUMMARY:Partial anterior restorations in challenging situations
DESCRIPTION:Partial anterior restorations in challenging situations\nIn the first part of my presentation\, I will cover the topic of laminate veneers bonded to teeth with existing composite restorations or exposed dentine. When teeth have large exposed dentin and/or composite restorations are present\, many dentists tend to make a crown. However\, current adhesive systems allow us to bond laminate veneers to teeth with existing restorations or IDS. This lecture will cover both in-house scientific studies and clinical workflow. A step-by-step protocol for reliable bonding of laminate veneers will be given. \nIn this presentation you will learn: \n\nHow to be minimal invasive in challenging anterior situations\nHow to apply an IDS layer and create an optimal adhesion in the luting appointment\nIf we can leave existing restorations underneath ceramic partial restorations\n\n  \nAbout Dr. Marco Gresnigt\nMarco Gresnigt graduated cum laude in 2005 and in 2012 he received his PhD (on laminate veneers) from the University of Groningen. He is currently associate professor in restorative dentistry\, conducts practice based research in the field of restorative/adhesive dentistry and teaches aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry at clinic. He has 5 PhD students\, 17 master students\, 2 internships and publishes in international journals (>65 peer reviewed; h-factor 27) especially in the field of adhesive restorative dentistry. He works at the center for special dental care at the Martini Hospital Groningen where he performs restorative and esthetic treatments using a surgical microscope. He gives keynote lectures and masterclasses (inter)nationally in the field of esthetic and adhesive dentistry (www.summitdentistry.nl). He has won several awards such as the GC world clinical case award\, Smile award\, EAED innovation award and numerous scientific awards. He was the president of the international Bio-Emulation group and has a group for innovative restorative dental research www.summit-research.org.
